BAS Technician and Programmer

Summary:

As a member of the Energy Controls Team, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) for commercial and institutional buildings. This role supports both end users and mechanical contractor customers, leveraging your expertise in BAS technologies and HVAC systems. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and electricians to ensure smooth project execution and system integration.

Requirements:

​
  • Working knowledge of BAS platforms such as Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, or KMC
  • Experience in programming and commissioning DDC control systems
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Familiarity with HVAC equipment, including air handlers, VAVs, chillers, boilers, and heat pumps
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for networks, controllers, and system communications
  • Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks protocols
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in the field to meet project timelines
  • Experience with front-end graphics design and user interface development is a plus
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and interacting with clients

BAS Electrician

​Summary:

As a BAS Electrician on the Energy Controls Team, you will support the installation and wiring of low-voltage Building Automation Systems (BAS) for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. This role focuses on the physical implementation of controls infrastructure, ensuring safe and accurate field installation in accordance with electrical codes and project specifications.

Requirements:

​
  • Experience with low-voltage electrical work, particularly in BAS or HVAC control environments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
  • Knowledge of conduit bending, wire pulling, and panel wiring best practices
  • Familiarity with DDC controls, field devices (sensors, actuators, relays), and power supplies
  • Understanding of applicable NEC and local electrical codes
  • Skilled in safe work practices and use of electrical testing tools
  • Ability to coordinate with controls technicians and project managers during installations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail during wiring and terminations
  • Capable of maintaining accurate documentation of wiring changes and field conditions
